Our History
Brighter Days Center is a family-owned business. The Hardjonos are long-time residents of Powell.
In 2004, Dr. Florence founded the Joyful Noise Studio in Powell, OH. The studio grew to be the largest Kindermusik and piano studios in Columbus between 2004-2014. In 2014, Dr. Florence Hardjono was nominated for the Community Music Educator Award by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Hundreds of children and families who grew up in Kindermusik at The Joyful Noise Studio continue to keep in touch with Dr. Florence. It is her absolute joy to see how those babies and the friendships that started in KM classes grew and blossoms!
As a Kindermusik educator, Dr. Florence uses music and movement to promote language and social development in young children. Her classes are designed to engage children in active, hands-on learning that fosters the development of key cognitive, language, and social skills. After more than a decade of introducing music to young children and families, she reluctantly closed the studio to focus on her family and career in academia.
However, after a thriving career in higher education as a Department Chair and Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Dr. Hardjono felt led to open “Brighter Days Center: Language, Mind, Music”. Her mission is to empower people of all ages to live life to their full potential by fostering cognitive growth, effective communication skills, a healthy mindset, a balanced life, and inner joyful peace.
