About Our Founder
Dr. Florence is the founder of Brighter Days Center for Language, Mind, and Music. Her faith in God, passion for helping individuals of all ages achieve their optimal potential, and strong passion for music has fueled her entire career.
She is committed to providing effective evidence-based programs and services that foster holistic and healthy development in children, strengthen family relationships, and make a difference in the community. Most of all, she strongly believes that music has a unique power over our soul, mind, and body.
Through her work as an ASHA-Certified Speech Language Pathologist and an educator with over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Florence has developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with learning and growth. She loves coaching young people in developing the skills they need to navigate the challenges of growing up in today’s world.
Her unique holistic approach to coaching and teaching incorporates her wealth of knowledge in the areas of speech, language, neuroscience, life-span development, and positive psychology to help individuals develop a strong sense of self, build resilience, and achieve their optimal potential.
In all her work, Dr. Florence is deeply dedicated to empowering individuals to live balanced and joy-filled lives. Her warmth, compassion, and expertise make her a trusted resource for children and adults alike.
In 2004, Dr. Florence founded the Joyful Noise Studio and grew it into a thriving Kindermusik and piano studio in Powell. As a Kindermusik educator, Dr. Florence uses music and movement to promote language and social development in young children. Her classes are designed to engage children in active, hands-on learning that fosters the development of key cognitive, language, and social skills. After more than a decade of introducing music to young children and families, she reluctantly closed the studio to pursue her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science.
However, after a rewarding career in higher education as a Program Director and Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at a private university, Dr. Hardjono felt led to reopen her Kindermusik studio and renamed the studio “Brighter Days Center.”
In addition, to Brighter Days Center, Dr. Florence and her husband Luki are co-owners of Cereset™ Northwest Columbus. As the owner and tech coach, she uses Cereset™ cutting-edge technology that helps the brain reset and rebalance itself. As a certified Cereset™ coach, Dr. Florence works with clients to help themachieve a state of calm and balance, promoting overall wellness and mental health.
As a dynamic speaker and teacher, Dr. Florence is available for speaking engagements on a variety of topics related to her faith, testimony, communication sciences and disorders, language development, and the role of music in cognitive function. Her presentations can be tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of your group and can range from keynote addresses to interactive workshops.
Dr. Florence lives in Powell, with her husband Luki, their children, and Teddy their beloved Goldendoodle. In her rare spare time, Dr. Florence enjoys reading, listening to music, chatting over coffee or meals with her friends, volunteering at her church, watching movies, spending time with her family, and supporting her children and students in their various performing arts endeavors.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing from the London School of Public Relations
- B.Th with a concentration in Christian Education – Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary
- B.A (Summa Cum Laude) in Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in Linguistics, Honors in Research Distinction- The Ohio State University
- MA in Speech-Language Pathology – The Ohio State University
- Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science specializing in language acquisition – The Ohio State University
